Fishing trip ends in tragedy

STAFF REPORTER

A FISHING trip in the North ended the death of a 49-year-old man on Saturday when the canoe he was in capsized.

The deceased was identified as Martinho Elalu.

The incident happened at Onhokolo village.

* A lit candle resulted in the death of a 31-year-old man at Katima Mulilo on Saturday when his house caught fire.

The incident took place at the New Cowboy Compound.

* An alleged pickpocket who tried to steal a pistol from a man at Tses was arrested and charged with the theft of a firearm on Saturday.

Police reported that the 28-year-old suspect stole the weapon from its owner at the Lutheran Church Hall at the village.
