Man uses fishing net to commit suicide

STAFF REPORTER

A 43-year-old Windhoek resident reportedly hanged himself with a piece of fishing net on Tuesday.

Andreas Kamati's body was discovered at his home in Havana's Zambia Street.

Police reported that the incident must have happened between 06h00 and 07h00 that morning.

* At Oshakati, 35-year-old Fanuel Iihete reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree - he reportedly used a piece of rope.

The incident happened at Onekwaya village in the Uukwambi district.

* A 57-year-old man was found dead with a .303 rifle lying between his legs at Onamutenya village near Okatope in northern Namibia last Wednesday.

Police suspect that the deceased, Titus Shivute, shot himself.

* A 37-year-old man at the Aussenkehr farm in the Karas Region allegedly committed suicide either on Monday night or Tuesday morning, Police reported.

The deceased, who is said to have hanged himself, was identified as Jekonia Hamutoko.

* Police are investigating a case of stock theft at Ruacana after a heifer belonging to a man from Okapika village was found in Angola.

The value of the animal is estimated at N$1 300.

The Police say they have not managed to arrest anyone in connection with the crime yet.
