Police report three suicides

STAFF REPORTER

TWO apparent suicides were reported from the Omuthiya constituency in the Oshikoto Region late last week, the Police reported on Sunday.

At about 10h30 on Thursday, the decomposed body of the 30-year-old Immanuel Shipopyeni was found at Oshifukwa, a village in the Omuthiya constituency.

Shipopyeni had gone missing from his home on February 9, and it is alleged that he had hanged himself from a tree with a rope.

On Friday, Martin Kampala (37) is alleged to have hanged himself with a rope in his bedroom at Amupulungundju, another village in the Omuthiya constituency, the Police further announced on Sunday.

A third alleged suicide was reported in Windhoek over the weekend, after Christopher Johannes Jacobus Petrus Snyman (57) alleged shot himself in the head with a pistol in Hochland Park on Saturday afternoon.
