Thursday, August 28, 2008 - Web posted at 10:23:00 AM GMT Hitman takes on five opponents CORRY IHUHUANAMIBIAN lightweight boxing champion, Paulus 'Hitman' Moses will come up against five local opponents before he takes a punch at the world title in October, his trainer, Nestor Tobias, announced yesterday. |
|
Moses will come up against his countrymen in an exhibition fight at the Windhoek Country Club on September 12, and there will be several other fighters in action. The idea behind giving Moses five different opponents is to keep him fit and in tune ahead of his title fight in late October. Details about his world title fight will only become available next month, said Tobias, who added that at this stage, it was important for Moses to keep in shape and be ready for the fight. On September 12, there will be a national title fight between Abnerk Shidjuu and Simon Negodhi in the flyweight division. Before that, Hitman will first take on Daniel Kashela and Jatoorora Tjingaveta over two rounds before taking on Paulus 'Ali' Nuumembe over three rounds. He will then take on Betuel Uushona over two rounds to complete his exhibition stint for the evening. Tobias said all fights will be real and not just plain sparring. "It will be real stuff, no jokes," he said. In other fights, Martin Haikali fights Albino Felesianu in the lightweight bout over four rounds before Teofelus Jatileni takes on Sackey Shikukutu over four rounds in the catchweight division. Both Paulus Ambunda (bantamweight) and Wilbeforce 'Black Mamba' Shihepo (super-middleweight) will take on unidentified boxers from Zimbabwe on the same night. |
