Bank to host tenth golf day for welfare

BANK Windhoek will host its tenth golf day in aid of welfare on September 19 at the Windhoek Golf Club.

The aim of the Bank Windhoek Golf Day is to raise funds for welfare organisations in Namibia.

Bank Windhoek will cover all the costs of the day in order to donate the funds raised through entry fees and donations.

"Bank Windhoek is continuously seeking ways to contribute to the socio-economic development, growth and prosperity of the communities in which we operate.

It is through helping welfare organisations that Bank Windhoek and its partners are able to make a difference in the lives of so many Namibians," said Riaan van Rooyen, Head of Corporate Communication and Social Investment.

In 2007 a total of N$126 000 was donated to five welfare organisations in Namibia.

The bank invites registered welfare organisations in Namibia to apply for the proceeds.

Organisations can send their applications, marked 'Application for Golf Day Funds' before or on Friday, August 29 to fax (061) 299 1287 or deliver it to the sixth floor of the Bank Windhoek Main Building in Independence Avenue.

Applications should include the following: Name of the organisation, fundraising number and date of establishment.

It should also state the mission, vision and objectives of the organisation.

A list of projects currently involved in should also be provided, while partners of the organisation (previous and present donors) should also be named.

A project proposal for the use of the Bank Windhoek funds should also be enclosed.

Welfare organisations outside of Windhoek may apply for the funds.
