Murdered woman found at Rehoboth

DENVER ISAACS

POLICE at Rehoboth are investigating the murder of a woman whose body was discovered next to a club at the town over the weekend.

The body was discovered at around 07h00 on Saturday morning, about 80 metres from the club New Look in Rehoboth's Block F area.

Police reported that the woman's body lay next to a sand dune.

Judging by the marks found around her neck, the woman, believed to have been between 35 and 40 years old, appears to have been strangled.

She had a sock stuck in her mouth and a pair of panties lying next to her body.

It is suspected that whoever murdered her tried to rape her too.

By yesterday afternoon, the woman's identity had not been established yet.

Police at the town said they had sent her fingerprints to Windhoek in an attempt to find a match on the Ministry of Home Affairs' ID records.

No suspect had been arrested by yesterday afternoon.
