Rape, murder, robbery mark long weekend

POLICE in the Ohangwena Region have laid a charge of rape against a 24-year-old woman from Okakwa village, after a nine-year-old boy reported that she had raped him.

Police investigations into the matter continue.

The woman has not been arrested.

* A man employed at Hosea Kutako Airport was arrested on Saturday afternoon after he allegedly raped a woman living in one of the houses on the airport grounds.

* A 23-year-old man was arrested on a double rape charge on Friday afternoon, after he allegedly raped two nine-year-old girls at Otjiwarongo.

* An eight-year-old girl was raped at Okakarara on Friday afternoon.

A 21-year-old suspect was arrested.

* A quarrel, reportedly over the affections of a girl, on Saturday led to the death of a 28-year-old man at the hands of a 15-year-old suspect.

Police report that William Yasser was stabbed in the neck at around 22h30 in Windhoek's Okuryangava area.

He was rushed to the Katutura State Hospital where he died shortly afterwards.
