Tuesday, August 19, 2008 - Web posted at 8:04:13 AM GMT Another cold front coming ABSALOM SHIGWEDHASOUTHERN Namibia will be hit by a cold front this weekend, the Windhoek Weather Bureau warned yesterday. |
|
Weatherman Simon Dirkse said the cold front, which will make its presence felt from Friday, will result in some showers. "It will be significant," he said. Dirkse said the chilly weather in Windhoek over the weekend was also caused by a cold front. He said some showers were received at Noordoewer and Karasburg. There were also some drops at Keetmanshoop. The front was pushed away eastwards and temperatures have picked up. "That's why it is hot today [yesterday]," he said. Meanwhile, Namibia's main dams continue to show encouraging readings. The Von Bach Dam near Okahandja is 93,4 per cent full, according to the latest NamWater Dam Bulletin. In the Omaheke Region, the Otjivero Main Dam is 95,4 per cent full. The Hardap Dam outside Mariental is at 65,1 per cent of capacity. |
