The arrangements for the emergency flight were done with E-Med via Namibia Medical Care and the service rendered by both companies was outstanding.

Flight arrangements were finalised within the shortest period of time and both companies were communicating with family members and the doctor in Botswana in a prompt, professional and commendable manner.

Medical doctors and hospital personnel, paramedics and the pilot were - as always - efficient and on the job! In sickness and emergency cases people become vulnerable and reliant on the mercy, empathy and support of others.

Our gratitude and appreciation goes to the doctors and staff of the Medical Clinic in Maun, to Jannie Rautenbach of Namibia Medical Care, to Zelvina Gille of E-Med, the pilot and the paramedics who accompanied the flight to/from Botswana, the personnel of the Roman Catholic Hospital in Windhoek, the anaesthetist, Dr Laubscher, and last but not least the surgeon, Dr Greeff, who is not only known as a man of integrity but also a doctor who leads his profession by example.

It is encouraging to know that in a world that is dumped in an economic turmoil, overshadowed by corruption, crime and injustice there are still people who care.

Our wish is that this letter encourages other fellow Namibians to follow suit and to do what they do with dedication, honesty and to the best of their ability, thereby contributing to a combined effort to turn our beautiful country Namibia into the Switzerland of Africa.
