Roads Unsafe For Cyclists

I AM writing as a very concerned motorist/driver.

It seems that as motor vehicle drivers we are more privileged than our two-wheeled fellow road users.

I took note of the space allocated for our two-wheeled road users.

I refer mostly to cyclists.

As a car driver I have the privilege of a space when I am mobile (tar road) a space for when I am immobile (parking lots), more surprisingly there is even space for pedestrians on the pavement, but where do you find a space for the cyclist? It is a very scary scenario during peak hours for cyclists to find their way around the drivers (very impatient at times) in our narrow streets which at times are not even safe for motorists to travel on (suburban roads included) and keep themselves (cyclists) safe and intact.

Looking at the current economic scenario and the near future it is inevitable that cycling might become the cheaper option for inter-city travel, resulting in us facing more cyclists and it will then be too late to put commendable action into place; it will be pure damage control! It is high time for the Municipalities to take the rest of the road users into consideration.

I really feel that they should investigate the possibility of making the roads user-friendly for all road users.
