ORGANISERS of the Namibian Businesswoman of the Year Award last week announced the final nominations of the candidates competing for the prestigious title.

The Namibia Businesswoman of the Year Award - which celebrates the achievements of remarkable women - has become an integral part of the local business calendar.

The event, which will be held on Friday at a Windhoek hotel, has in the past included winners in the form of Namibia's most talented business leaders.

Nominees this year are: Business Owner Category - Twapewa Mundjanima of Pewa Hair and Skin Care Manufacturers, Rhiana Potgieter of Shadonai Beauty School and Grace Rudolph of Namib Clothing.

Private and Corporate Sector Category - Margaret Bennet, MD Professional Provident Society Namibia, and Angelene Wiese, Franchise Manager Pupkewitz Toyota.

Community and Government Category - Monica Nashandi, Deputy Executive Director, Office of the President and Helene Vosloo, Manager at Electricity Control Board.

"In the 12 years since its inception, this prestigious awards programme has proudly honoured women whose achievements, commitment and vision have made them leaders in their chosen fields of endeavour" said Desere Lundon-Muller of the Namibia Economist.

The event is sponsored by Telecom Namibia and Castle Brewing Namibia and organised by the Namibia Economist newspaper.
