Pensioners in road accident

OSHAKATI - Police at Okatope in the Oshikoto Region have opened a culpable homicide docket after an Isuzu bakkie overturned on the Onyulaye gravel road last week.

Five of the 12 people in the bakkie were seriously injured and one died later at Onandjokwe Lutheran Hospital near Ondangwa.

He was identified as 55-year-old Andreas Lukas from Oshambula village in the Ondonga traditional district.

The other seven people escaped with minor injuries and were released after receiving treatment at the nearby Okatope Health Centre.

The passengers were apparently on their way to collect their pension payouts.
