Alleged housebreaker in city shot dead by resident

DENVER ISAACS

THE Police are investigating a case of murder against a Windhoek resident after he shot two alleged housebreakers on Friday morning, Police spokesperson Sergeant Stephan Nuuyi reported yesterday.

The Police reported that at around 11h30 on Friday, a couple who arrived at the house of an acquaintance found the front door broken open.

Noticing something suspicious, they apparently entered the house.

Two men suddenly stormed them - one armed with a knife, the other with a screwdriver.

The male visitor pulled out his gun and fired two shots at the suspects.

Both bullets hit their target, and one of the two robbers died on the spot.

The other was rushed to the Katutura State hospital, where he is reportedly in a critical condition.

A case of housebreaking and theft was opened against him, while Police are investigating a case of murder against the shooter.
