Two skeletons, one body found

* STAFF REPORTER

THE skeletal remains of a man reported missing to the Police in December was found on the road between Gobabis and Blouberg on Thursday.

Alfons Kazawe (48) reportedly went missing while travelling to Blouberg from Gobabis on December 10, when a friend he was travelling with on horseback left him sleeping next to the road after he had apparently become drunk.

He never reached his destination, and his family identified the corpse lying beside the road by the clothes Kazawe had been wearing.

* Police have reported the discovery of a human skeleton in a riverbed near the Schlip Settlement Clinic near Kalkrand on Tuesday.

Police have been unable to establish the identity of the deceased, and no clothes or other items that could help with the identification were found at the scene.

The skeleton is currently in the Mariental Mortuary.

* Police are requesting the help of the public in identifying the body of a man found in Mariental on Wednesday.

A brown jersey, a pair of blue jeans and a jacket were also found on the scene, believed to be those of the deceased.

Anybody who can help is asked to contact Deputy Commissioner Sankwasa or Chief Inspector Kahamba at (063) 24 0485.
