Body of murder suspect found in Goreangab Dam

THE body of a man suspected of killing his girlfriend last Tuesday was found floating in the Goreangab Dam in Windhoek late on Thursday afternoon.

Family and neighbours suspected the 32-year-old Malueza Katjanua of being behind the death of his girlfriend, 39-year-old Police officer Theopartiu Harakuta, who was found in her living room on Tuesday with her throat slit and a stab wound in her chest.

Katjanua had not been seen since, and his car was found next to the dam on Tuesday evening.

*A 28-year-old woman in transit from Grootfontein to Keetmanshoop was robbed of all her possessions in Windhoek on Friday evening.

She had gotten into a taxi meant to take her to the bus rank at Rhino Park, when the two men in the vehicle instead took her to the Single Quarters in Katutura.

The suspects threatened her with a pistol and a knife, and stole all her luggage, money and other possessions.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer James Matengu said yesterday that the victim was forced to overnight in a shelter in Khomasdal.

* An 18-year-old man died on the way to the Katutura State Hospital on Friday evening, after having been stabbed in the chest with a bottle.

He had been in a fight with another 18-year-old in a street in Wanaheda, Katutura.

The deceased has been identified as Nico Skrywer, and the suspect has been arrested.

* Jackson Meroro (25) died in the Katutura State hospital after having picked up a quarrel with three men at a shebeen in Wanaheda.

He ended up being stabbed in the back, and all three suspects are still at large.
