Nafau elects its first executive for North

OSHAKATI - A regional conference of the Namibia Food and Allied Workers Union (Nafau), which took place at Oshakati in the Oshana Region at the weekend, elected Martha Mwandingi as the union's first regional chairperson in the far North.

Nafau branch co-ordinator Valeria Vaefeleni told Nampa that Mwandingi, who works at Kentucky Fried Chicken at Oshakati, would be deputised by Oiva Kapembe.

The secretary of the three-member Nafau northern executive committee is Bonifatius Nakakoti.

Kapembe is a shop steward at Fyzal Fresh Produce at Ondangwa; Nakakoti works at Cresta Lodge, also at Ondangwa.

They will serve as members of the regional executive for the next two years.

It is the first Nafau executive committee to be elected in the North.

Nafau President David Namalenga attended the regional conference at Oshakati.- Nampa
