Baby dies in bucket

OSHAKATI - A 20-month-old baby drowned in a bucket of water in the Uukwambi traditional district on Thursday.

Police at Oshakati say the incident took place at Okapumbu village near Oshikuku in the Omusati Region.

The child, identified as Matti Ruben, was apparently trying to drink water when he fell into the bucket.

A drowning was also reported at Uukwangula village.

Erastus Amweenye (80) reportedly drowned in a pond while trying to draw water.
