Don't mess with a taxi driver

STAFF REPORTER

A WINDHOEK taxi driver last week shot a customer who stole his day's takings from the car's ashtray.

The customer, who has not been identified by the Police, was wounded in the thigh.

The Police say the man had been travelling in a taxi heading for Katutura last Thursday night.

When the taxi stopped in Wilbard Kapuenene Street in Katutura, the passenger allegedly grabbed N$300 from the ashtray and jumped out of the car.

The taxi driver shot him, recovered the money and then drove the wounded man to the Katutura State Hospital.
