A Big Flop

ALLOW me to express my views in your daily newspaper about the disorganisation of this year's NBC / Sanlam Music Awards.

I have few, but vital questions and general personal comments to the public and, Sanlam music awards organising committee.

1.What makes an artist be regarded a newcomer?

2.Who qualifies to be a master of ceremonies (MC)?

3.Were various winners from different traditional/ethnic groups aware that such category existed?

4.What were the music awards' aims and objectives and were they met and achieved? General personal comments: The master of ceremonies was not independent but rather unfair and one-sided, as she was praising and complimenting some artists more than others.

There was no meaningful communication between the organising committee and various artists such as traditional artists from different ethnic groups such as Damara/Nama, Oshiwambo, Rukavango etc as they failed to turn up without any valid clarification Most award presenters were unprepared, not familiar with the names of the artists and this resulted in the mispronunciation of some artists' names and poor time management.

Some songs were misplaced in the wrong categories and this made the whole music awards ceremony complete chaos and a super flop.
