Outjo Police lose office and dockets burnt in suspected arson case

STAFF REPORTER

THE Outjo Police lost an office on Wednesday in what is suspected to be an arson case.

The office, which belongs to the Crime Investigators' department, had apparently contained a number of dockets for cases that were being investigated.

According to a Police report, 64 out of the 130 dockets kept in the office were reduced to ashes along with the table on which it had been placed.

The rest of the dockets had also been damaged to a lesser extent.

A suspect was arrested later at a farm approximately 22 km south-west of the town.

According to the Police, the man arrested is awaiting trial in a rape case.
