This happened during a Namibian Police crime prevention operation at that town during July and August.

The Police said in their daily crime report on Friday that 41 people were also issued with summonses amounting to N$11 050 for violating traffic regulations at Luederitz.

The offences included parking in non-parking zones, disobeying red lights and stop signs, and driving without driver's licences, number plates or seat belts.

During a similar operation at Noordoewer, the Police recovered a rifle and a water pump valued at N$24 000.

A case of illegal possession of a firearm and possession of suspected stolen property was opened.

* Five armed men robbed the Dahema Service Station in Windhoek early on Thursday morning.

They held two female cashiers at gunpoint and fled with approximately N$3 000 in cash from the teller machines.

The suspects reportedly took off in the direction of the Western Bypass Road.

Police investigations continue.
