Watch out for new scams

* STAFF REPORTER

NAMIBIAN businesses are warned to be on the lookout for fraudulent schemes trying to con unsuspecting victims out of their money.

Three businesses have confirmed receiving faxes from South Africa, asking their banking details purportedly looking for local business partners.

Attempts to verify the existence of the "companies" that sent the faxes proved unsuccessful.

One of these faxes was sent by an entity calling itself 'Dempt Business Centre', with a Cape Town telephone number.

Another purports to be an accommodation booking by 'Frika Tours', which could not be contacted at the numbers and address listed on the fax.
