Cooling showers fall across country

RAIN was reported at several places across Namibia at the weekend.Isolated thundershowers could still be expected in the interior today but it would be hot, weatherman Victor Kaurimuje said yesterday.

He could not say what the rainfall prospects for the rest of the week were, though - there was a power outage at the forecasting office at Hosea Kutako Airport yesterday.

Gobabis received the most rain - 8,6 millimetres - from Saturday to yesterday morning.

In Windhoek, 6,4 millimetres were measured in Suiderhof and in the city centre.

Grootfontein received 3,3 mm, Karasburg in the south 3,2 mm and the Hosea Kutako International Airport, outside Windhoek, 3 mm.
