Armed hold-up at coastal coffee bar

* STAFF REPORTER

THREE armed robbers held up a coffee bar at Luederitz on Saturday night and stole N$10 000 in cash.
The Police reported yesterday that the three entered Ray Coffee Bar in Bahnhof Street at around 21h30, armed with a pistol and a panga.

One of the robbers hit the security guard on the head and neck with the panga while the others held the cashier at gunpoint, demanding money.

Fearing for their lives, the staff at the coffee bar handed over the cash and the robbers fled.

A Police spokesman said two of the suspects have been arrested and will appear in court today.

* At Tsumeb, the body of 41-year-old Kasius Gotfried Haipare was found in the town's cemetery on Thursday last week.

The deceased reportedly suffered from epilepsy.

He is said to have left home earlier in the week and never came back.

* Police in Windhoek are still appealing for information that might lead to an arrest in the Juanita Mabula murder case.

A Police spokesman said valuable information had been gathered so far but no arrests have been made.
