Swakop plots sell like hotcakes

MORE than 260 potential buyers from across Namibia registered to bid at an auction of 150 reserved plots that took place in Swakopmund on Friday.

The auction was open to first-time property owners only.

All 150 plots were sold for a total of N$21 072 000 with one cancellation of purchase after the event.

The average selling price was N$140 480, which amounts to N$183 per square metre.

The plot with the lowest upset price of N$41 510 sold for N$100 000.

The highest bid was called at N$215 000.

The plots, ranging between 593 and 1 234 square metres, are situated in Extension 9 of Swakopmund, next to the road to Henties Bay.

In December, 80 more plots in this area will come under the hammer at an open auction.
