12-year-old in court without lawyer

GOBABIS - A 12-year-old boy appeared in the Gobabis Magistrate's Court on Friday on a charge of theft.

The boy allegedly stole goods valued at N$400 from a stall at the town market on July 11.

Some of the stolen goods were recovered, State Prosecutor Tuyove Hishikushitja said.

The boy, who was not represented by a lawyer, pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate Helen Namushinga adjourned the case to January 13 for trial.

The boy's bail was extended until his next court appearance.

Nampa has established that the boy is one of the street children in Gobabis.- Nampa
