The Namibian it was incorrectly stated that the Namibian Red Cross was appealing for N$10 million in aid for earthquake victims in South Asia.

The Namibian Red Cross says they are in fact not asking for a fixed amount, "only enough to show Namibia's concern, support and recognition of South Asia's sorrow".

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies is appealing for 10 million Swiss Francs.
