N$80 000 stolen from Okaukuejo Post Office

ABOUT N$80 000 in cash was stolen from the safe of the Okaukuejo Post Office, in the Outjo District, NamPost reported this week.

Police spokesperson Chief Inspector Hieronymus Goraseb told Nampa on Wednesday that the theft was detected on Monday this week.

A police investigation is currently underway.

In an unrelated incident, Rosh Pinah resident Adam Jerome Kahambunda died after being stabbed with a broken bottle in the neck.

The stabbing took place in the early hours on Monday this week at about 02h30 at the mine settlement.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested and he is now helping the Police with their investigation.

The Keetmanshoop Police have opened a docket of inquest after Isaak Afrikaner died on the scene when a Nissan pick-up he was travelling in left the road and overturned.

The accident took place some 120 kilometres from Keetmanshoop on the Keetmanshoop/Grunau main road.

It is reported that the 45-year-old deceased was alone in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
