Works Ministry suspends 4 officials

THE Ministry of Works, Transport and Communication has suspended four of its officials who are implicated in an alleged fraudulent scheme relating to the allocation of flats to government employees.

The Ministry's public relations officer, Julius Ngwedha, confirmed the four employees' suspension in an interview with Nampa.

He could, however, not release their names, as the ministry has now launched a thorough investigation into the alleged fraud.

All four officials were attached to the Ministry's Asset Management Division, which handles the allocation of flats to civil servants.

Two of the four suspended officials are said to be clerks.
