Rains get better of link road

RUNDU - Heavy rains have reportedly destroyed parts of the road between the Mahango Game Park and Muhembo Border Post in eastern Kavango, Regional Governor John Thighuru said yesterday.

The governor, who travelled to the border post recently, warned motorists using the road to drive carefully to avoid accidents.

Thighuru urged the Roads Contractor Company operating in the area to visit the site and repair the road immediately, as many visitors travelling via neighbouring Botswana use the same road.

The Bagani Agricultural Research Station, about 200 km east of Rundu in the Mukwe Constituency, has received 51 millimetres of rainfall since Saturday last week.
