Govt official in court

GOBABIS - A civil servant appeared in the Gobabis Magistrate's Court on Monday on charges of reckless driving and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Gerhard Alugodhi (28) was allegedly under the influence when he crashed a Government vehicle into a house in the Epako location at Gobabis last Friday.

The cost of the damage to the house and the 4x4 bakkie has not yet been determined, although the damage appeared to be extensive, Police spokesman Sergeant Michael Matengu told Nampa.

Alugodhi was granted bail of N$500 and will reappear in court March 15.
