Thursday, January 20, 2005 - Web posted at 7:43:16 GMT Swakop suspect reveals his ALL MAGGI BARNARDA CONGOLESE man accused of assault gave "the naked truth" a whole new meaning during an appearance in the Magistrate's Court at Swakopmund. |

John Boddo Lopez (36), who lives at Mondesa, has not only gained a reputation of being very well endowed, but also of causing drama and havoc every time he appears in court. This means the charges against him are ever increasing. He stunned the court in July when, in reaction to yet another postponement of his case, he took off all his clothes in protest. The Police officers in court immediately tried to cover him up, but he overpowered them and demanded to be taken back to the Police cells immediately and not to the court holding cell. "He just walked out of court into the corridor stark naked," said a court official. "He has a huge member and it was swinging from side to side as he was walking." The official said his member was as long and thick as her upper arm, "and it was not even erect". There was a vibe of anticipation at court yesterday ahead of yet another appearance by Lopez. People asked excitedly where the "streaker" was. The Police officers wanted to ensure he did not have any more nasty surprises and body-searched him in the holding cell. He had apparently vowed that he would fill a bowl with his own excrement and bring it to court to throw it at the Magistrate. Yesterday, he started screaming and shouting at the top of his voice, calling to his "mama" and "papa" at times and banging on the cell door, causing such a row that it interrupted the court proceedings. "You must tell that gentleman his noise is disturbing my court," Magistrate Gibson Imbili told Police officers angrily. Lopez was eventually moved to a holding cell for the Regional Court, but his screams continued to reverberate through the building. "That is the kind of supporter the Springbok rugby team needs," a Police officer remarked after an hour of continuous shouting. The Prosecutor asked if the case could receive priority and the Magistrate said they should proceed without Lopez, as it would be too disruptive. Lopez has so far managed to accumulate two more charges against him for his extreme behaviour. He was originally charged with assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, assault by threat, theft and crimen injuria. He was arrested for allegedly hitting his girlfriend, Erna Gases, with a stone all over her body, including her private parts, and strangling her. He also threatened to burn her or set her on fire, he stole her jacket and accused her of having sex with a Police officer. He pleaded not guilty on all four charges, but apparently shouted at the Magistrate during one of his appearances that while he was in custody his girlfriend was "f...ing" Police officers. After he revealed his "naked truth" in court, a second charge was laid against him for assaulting a member of the Police. In September, a third charge was brought against him of assault on a member of the Police and malicious damage to property. The first case was postponed to February 9, and the other two to June 15. |
