Police seeks tips on dagga smugglers

EENHANA - The Police commander in the Ohangwena Region has appealed to the public to be on the lookout for people smuggling dagga into Namibia from Angola and to tip off the Police if they have any information in that regard.

Deputy Commissioner Armas Shivute told Nampa that several people, especially Angolans, had been arrested for smuggling drugs across the border.

Last Sunday, three Angolan women were caught at the border, a few kilometres from the Oshikango border post.

They had 10 kilogrammes of dagga in their possession.

The three women appeared before the Ohangwena Magistrate last week and were remanded in custody.
