Food aid thieves appear in court

RUNDU - Three suspects in a drought relief scam appeared briefly before Rundu Magistrate Marilize Willemse on Tuesday.

The three - Raphael Karavora, Mukosho Mathinus Kudumo and Julius Dausab - were not asked to plead and the case was adjourned to July 20.

Magistrate Willemse adjourned the hearing because one of the defence lawyers was absent because of medical reasons.

The three suspects' bail of N$2 000 was extended.

The three face charges of theft of drought relief food that was found at a farm belong to Karavora in the Mayongora area, about 80 kilometres south of Rundu, in March last year.
