However, the organising committee is still looking for suitable venues closer to Windhoek, he said. The initial final of the tournament is scheduled for Windhoek's Independence Stadium on March 21 to coincide with Independence Day. Meanwhile, the coaches of the three Windhoek-based teams Civics, Black Africa and Tigers said it would be costly for them to travel outside the capital again, having just returned from playing in Otjiwarongo and Tsumeb in the first round and quarter-finals of the Cup the past weekend. But the coaches said that if the NFA does not find a suitable venue soon, they would have no choice but to travel again. Chairman of Black Africa Kandas Paulino complained that the N$2 000 provided by the NFA for transport expenses was not enough, adding that their travel expenses amount to approximately N$10 000 per return trip. "Even if we if win the Cup, half of the money would cover club expenses that were made by travelling to those towns where the semi-finals will take place," said Paulino. - Nampa |
