Ali to fight Okine for Commonwealth Eliminator

NAMIBIAN welterweight boxer Paulus 'Silent Assassin' Nuumbembe will square up against Joshua Okine from Ghana for the Commonwealth Eliminator title, it was confirmed this week.

The 12-round fight will take place in Manchester, England, on Friday, February 12 next year.

Nuumbembe's management won the bid to stage the fight in the United Kingdom, where the Namibian has been training and boxing for the past few years.

The winner of this fight will challenge the Commonwealth champion, Kevin Anderson, before the end of March, as ordered by the Commonwealth Council.

But before this year comes to a close, Nuumbembe has a six-round warm-up fight at Bolton Football Club on December 18.

The opponent is still to be confirmed.
