Athletics Namibia president Alpha Kangueehi announced in a press release that Botes would not be allowed to organise any competitions or coaching clinics, or speak on behalf of the athletics body in future.

"Please note that should you be in breach of these resolutions, we shall not hesitate to take legal action against you or any organisation represented by you," Kangueehi stated.

Yesterday's letter came about two months after Botes tendered his resignation from the post, but Kangueehi said yesterday that Botes had not submitted his letter of resignation to the body.

"Up to now, we are still waiting for his letter.

We have not received anything from him.

This letter is to inform him that he is now officially expelled from all activities of Athletics Namibia," Kangueehi told The Namibian Sport.

Meanwhile, Botes told The Namibian Sport that he was not aware of his expulsion by AN's National Council.

"I have already resigned and have nothing to do with Athletics Namibia," said Botes.

"This shows his incompetence.

Or is he trying to seek sensation through announcing this or what does he want to achieve?" he asked.

"I am no longer part of them and what I will do is to continue holding my competitions and coaching clinics without them.

I don't need them," he added.

Botes had many personal differences with Kangueehi, especially about how to run the affairs of the organisation.

They have clashed on the organising and running of local events, accused each other of racism and favouritism in choosing athletes for competitions, financial irregularities and gross incompetence.

Botes said: "I have only one message for Kangueehi.

Please forget about Quinton Botes and get your act together for the interest of the athletes."

In return, Kangueehi maintained that "Botes will not be allowed to do anything when it comes to athletics in his life ever".
