|
The young side won its second match 3-1 against Seychelles on Monday afternoon, after suffering a humiliating 8-0 hammering from Madagascar on Saturday. Namibia will play against Angola today in their fourth fixture of Group C at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium. Namibia's scorers on Monday against Seychelles were Ettiene Beukes, Wilfred Coetzee and Letu Shatimwene. Team manager Lesley Kozonguizi yesterday explained that the loss to Madagascar was because Namibia only had seven players on the field in the last ten minutes of the game. The substitutions were all used. He said three key players were injured, while a fourth, Ivan Makina, was sent off. He said Namibia only trailed 2-0 at half-time, but goals started pouring in during the last 15 minutes of the game due to the gaps in certain positions. |
