Hofeni Hakoala (44), apparently caught up in the spirit of the festivities, took out his nine-millimetre pistol and fired a shot into the air. |

But the bullet hit his 23-year-old neighbour, Asser Helao, in the left arm and Hakoala now faces two criminal charges - attempted murder and discharging a firearm in a public place. He is currently out on bail. "It was an accident," Hakoala told The Namibian. He said that Helao, who could not be reached for comment, had since been released from hospital. |
