National reconciliation was one of the issues discussed at the church's synod held at the Exodus Congregation in Luederitz recently. The synod also discussed the church's policies on such subjects as corruption and HIV-AIDS. The church called upon Government for clear guidelines on land expropriation, which are not a response to labour unrest or to public emotions. But it also called upon the farming community to co-operate with Government to achieve lasting land reform. The Church vowed to ensure the protection of other marginalised groups such as women, children and the elderly. The synod also strongly condemned corruption and maladministration at all levels of Government. |
