Two pedestrians in the North hit by vehicle

* STAFF REPORTER

TWO women were seriously injured in a car accident between Oshakati and Outapi on Monday, the Police reported yesterday.

The women have been identified as Rachel (23) and Amalia Heita (24).

They reportedly tried to cross the road when they were hit by a Toyota Hilux bakkie.

Both were taken to the Oshakati State Hospital, and their condition is reported to be stable.

Police are investigating charges of reckless and negligent driving.

* At Oshikoto, Mike Mengo (27) died on Tuesday after shooting himself in the chest.

* A day earlier, on Monday, 18-year-old Immanuel Ipawa from Oshana shot and killed himself with a shotgun in his room.
