Issuing of licences resumes

* STAFF REPORTER

THE Roads Authority reports that the production of driving licences, which was halted in October because of a supply problem, has resumed.

Orders for several thousand driver's licences have accumulated, especially from the final period of the licence conversion period.

It will take some time to work through the backlog, reports the Authority.

The Roads Authority also reminds people that temporary licences are only valid for six months.

After this period, holders need to collect their new SADC driver's licence cards.
