NCCI pleased with Namibian participation in Lubango fair

TONDERAI KATSWARA

THE Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry has expressed satisfaction with the just-ended Lubango Trade Fair in the Huila province of Angola.

The NCCI, through its northern branch, in conjunction with SMEs Compete - a local non-governmental organisation - jointly arranged for the participation of over 10 small- and medium-size enterprises to take part in the trade fair that was held between August 18 and... NCCI Northern branch office regional manager David Angula said 13 local SMEs had exhibited their wares and products under the theme, 'Namibian-Angola Trade Connection'.

The SMEs were mainly from the meat industry, office equipment, cosmetics, textiles, jewellery, communication technologies, plastic products and toiletries.

"The participation was excellent as it gave the local SMEs a chance to make contacts with their Angolan counterparts," Angula told The Namibian.

"They also managed to familiarise themselves with the business environment in Lubango," he said.

Angula said local SMEs in the meat industry were due to having meetings with their Angolan counterparts next week to discuss business ventures and partnerships.

The Lubango Trade Fair, officially called the Agricultural - Industrial International Fair of our Lady of the Hill, is an annual event organised by the Angolan Industry of Commercial Agriculture Business and Industrial Association of Huila.
