Brazilian trade mission in Namibia

A two-member business delegation consisting of the African Director of ALUSA from Brazil, Rogeri Riccardi, and Oscar de Carvalho, a well-known businessperson from Mozambique is in Namibia for a three-day business visit.

This visit comes as a follow-up to a trade mission from Brazil under the leadership of Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, which was in the country in November last year, and held business meetings under the auspices of the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Windhoek.

ALUSA is one of the largest companies specialising in power generation, transmission and rural electrification programmes in Brazil, countries in South America and elsewhere.

ALUSA is interested in possible investments in Namibia and the two-member delegation, which met with NCCI president and Namdeb managing director Inge Zaamwani yesterday, will today be holding meetings with relevant stakeholders including the Prime Minister Theo-Ben Gurirab and NamPower managing director, Dr Leake Hangala.
