Leaders Set No Example

ALLOW me a space in your newspaper in order to express my views.

My concern is about Mayor Tjatjitivari Kandukira, his deputy Muvi Tjiho, three other Councillors and some top municipal officials who were among the first residents to have their water and electricity disconnected for non-payment last week.

Their unpaid bills are amounted to eleven thousand (N$11 000).

How it will be possible for those Councillors to administer the Town effectively while they have the same problems? I can call shame on them because they are getting enough money to pay water and electricity and at the same time they are the town leaders.

This Mayor, municipal officials and councillors are supposed to advise the residents of the town to pay their water and electricity bills, especially those residents who are using such services.

Now I do not understand how it will be possible for the aforesaid Councillors to make the Towns residents understand, because they too have their water and electricity also disconnected.

I really condemn this with the contempt it deserves, and advise the residents to change their leadership composition.

I am also urging the government to take that problem into consideration in order to avoid this kind of corruption in the future.
