Hindjou's German deal off

CORRY IHUHUA

CIVICS midfielder Congo Hindjou will no longer join German Open Liga club Neumeister as anticipated.

Hindjou told The Namibian yesterday that the coach who had him in mind was fired after losing six matches in a row during the run-up to the new season.

He said a host of players at that club were also shown the door.

"This resulted in my chances being slim to go to Europe.

I will now focus on my career at Civics before I find any other options," he said.

Hindjou was yesterday called-up to the national side and will possibly play in friendly matches against South Africa's Ajax Cape Town and Santos in South Africa soon.

Meanwhile, Civics Administrative Secretary Tim Isaacs also confirmed that the deal on Hindjou was off.

Isaacs added that Civics would still pursue a future move to Germany for the midfielder, but he could not say which teams they might target.

The transfer period in Germany is expected to open in January next year.
