The incident took place at Onhuno village in the North. The children's mother told Police that she left a candle burning in the hut where three-year-old Aune Shipanga and 11-month-old Johanna Jeremia were sleeping. She said she had gone to fetch water. When she returned, she found the hut engulfed in flames. * A case of culpable homicide is being investigated after seven-year-old Johnny Fernando was killed in a hit-and-run accident. Fernando was knocked down along Ombakata Street in the Oshatotwa settlement by the driver of a Nissan minibus at roughly 14h20 on Friday. The driver abandoned the vehicle about 200 metres from the scene of the accident, and remains at large. |
