Botswanan president due in Tanzania

DAR ES SALAAM, June 27 (AFP) - Botswana's President Festus Mogae was due in Tanzania Thursday for a five-day visit during which he will open the 26th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair, the foreign ministry said.

Mogae is also scheduled to have talks with his Tanzanian counterpart Benjamin Mkapa, according to a foreign ministry statement.

The trade fair opens on Sunday.

Mogae will also visit the semi-autonomous state of Zanzibar for talks with President Amani Karume and go on a game-viewing trip to Ngorongoro national park in northern Tanzania. Nampa-AFP
