Workers at Tanzania's largest bank end strike"We have reached a fruitful consensus during talks with the (NBC) management," trade union leader Boniface Nkakatisi told Nampa-AFP. "Workers have gone back to work," he added. Hundreds of NBC employees had boycotted work on Wednesday, inconveniencing many clients in the bank's 37 branches. "It was a big loss and frustration to customers. We are going to apologise for the disruption," said NBC's spokesperson Maxwell Pirikisi. South African financial group ABSA has a 70 percent stake in the NBC, which was formerly wholly-owned by the Tanzania government. The bank employs about 1,000 people. - Nampa-AFP |
