President says he will work on railway line

MAX HAMATA

PRESIDENT Sam Nujoma said yesterday that he had decided to use some of his spare time to participate in the construction of the Northern Railway Extension.

Speaking during his annual State of the Nation Address in Parliament, the President said the project was in full swing and work had progressed at a brisk pace.

"In fact, I have decided to use some of my spare time to go and voluntarily participate in the construction of the railway line from time to time."

Nujoma said the Ministry of Defence had also decided to assign one battalion to assist in construction of the railway to Angola to ensure that the project is completed as soon as possible.
